GAIETY THEATRE PICTURES. TO-NIGHT. THE FEMALE. Dalia, the little uncouth Boer girl, resented the snobbish manner of the women at the hotel. She pleaded with De Beer, her guardian, to take her away. Then she met Valentia. He was kind, and she was happy 'till she heand some of his friends making Bun of her. In anger she married De Beer and went to England to acquire polish uo that she could meet these society mein and women at their own game. “The Female,” which is the chief attraction to be shown tonight, stars Betty Compson. Others in the cast are Warner Baxter and Noah Beery. Also Charlie Chaplin, in “The Pawnshop.” DONNA VOORHEES VARIETY SPECIALITY CO. The above company, after a phenomenal run at the Theatre Royal, Hamilton, is performing at the Hikutaia Hall to-night, and patrons are assured of an excellent entertainment. Prior to the present tour the company showed round Auckland and suburbs for two, month/s for the benefit of .the Jubilee Institute for the Bl|ind, and was instrumental in adding materially to .the building fund.
