WATER SUPPLY SCHEME.
PLAINS WEST AREA. LOAN POLL CARRIED. . As was anticipated, the poll of ratepayer of the Hauraki Plains West water supply area taken on Thursday; was successful, the County Council being authorised to raise a loan of £'50,000 by 97 votes to 29. The voting at Ngatea was 44 for and .17 against, and at Pipiroa 53 for and 12 against. The purpose of- the loan is to en-.. able the Waitakaruru Stream, to be dammed and the Water used to supply farms in. the district between the Waitakaruru Canal and the Piako River.
