THAMES ELECTORATE.
MIL W. E. G. WILLY 'IX) STAND,
A LIBERAL CANDIDATE. The definite announcement was made on Saturday that Mr W. E. vr. Willy, farmer, of Piako Road, Turua, would contest the Thames scat in the Liberal Party’s interest at the next general election. Mr Willy is one of the early settires of the Hauraki Plains, and has always taken an interest in public affairs. He was one of the founders of the Hauraki Plains County, the Hauraki Drainage Board, and the newly formed Horahia Drainage Board, and at present is the Hauraki Plain's County representative on the Thames Valley Electric Power Board. In 1914 Mr Willy, on behalf of the directors of the Waikato Co-operative Dairy Co., launched the proposal to grade cream and pay by result;?. The far-reaching effects of this proposal are well known.
Mr Willy should receive much support from the Hauraki Plains. 4 largely signed petition asking him to contest the seat was presented to him recently..
