GOLF.
The tournament arranged by the Paeroa Club and held last Saturday on St. Andrew’s Links, Hamilton, for the East Auckland Amateur Championship, was attended with unprecedented success. The record entries, besides the chief, for all events w'e;re mainly due to the untiring efforts of the tournament secretary, JWr H. G. Somervell, and the Paeroa Club may well congratulate itself on possessing such an enthusiastic member. The championship was won by Mr N. Bell, of Hamilton, and is the first time for some years that it has been, won by a player belonging to a club outside the Goldfields. LADIES. Tlie senior match played last Saturday was won by E. Walmsley with a net score of 70, whilst the junior match was captured by Mrs E. Andrews, with a net score of 91. A bogey match, played on Tuesday, was .won by Mrs A. J. Arthur, who was 5 down at the' eighteenth hole.
