GOLF.
EAST AUCKLAND TOURNAMENT. A VERY SUCCESSFUL MEETING. The seventh annual golf tournament of the East Auckland clubs was held on Saturday on St. Andrew’s Links, Hamilton, under the auspices of the Paeroa Golf Club. The fixture proved an unqualified success, there being abnormally large entries for the various events. For the men’s bogey handicap there .were 67 entries,, for the medai 43, and for the East Auckland championship 23. About 12 ladies entered for the morning’s play, and 25 for the afternoon’s event —the ladies’ foursome. The results were: Men.—East Auckland Championship : Norrie Bell, score 85, Medal : Douglas Hay (Hamilton), net score 77. Bogey : A. Ensor (Morrinsville), score 7 up. Putting (9-hole round) :A. Gibbons, score 15. Ladies—East Auckland Championship : Mrs J. Peake (Cambridge), score 90. Medal Handicap : Mrs Lipsey (Te Aroha), nett score 77. Foursome : Miss Wilkinson, Miss Banks. Putting : Mrs W. Hume, 17.
