PERSONAL.
Messrs E. C. Cutten and H. Stebbing left Paeroa by train last evening to conduct a Young Citizens’ League initiation ceremony at Cambridge. Messrs G. W. Gerrard, senior inspector of schools, Auckland, H. McChesney, inspector, and F. Browne, headmaster of Mt. Eden school (temporary inspector), are at present making a periodical visit to country schools, and will inspect the local high school to-morrbw. Mr F. W. Wilks, 8.A., has returned to Paeroa much benefited in health, and has resumed duty as secondary assistant at the local high school. Mr S. J. Atkins, Auckland, who is on a health-recruiting trip, was a visitor to Paeroa to-day. Mr Atkins was at one time the popular mine host” of the Royal Mail Hotel, Paeroa. He expressed agreeable surprise at the progress the town has made since his last visit here.
