IN LIQUIDATION.
OHINEMURI LIGHT & POWER CO. OFFER TO BOROUGH COUNCIL. At a special meeting of ehareholders of the Ohinemuri Light and Power Co., Ltd,, held in Auckland, a resolution was passed, deciding to go into voluntary liquidation. Messrs H. J. Aitkenson and L. W. Swan, Auckland, have been appointed liquidators, and they were in Paeroa on Monday negotiating for the disposal -of the whole of the assets of the company in Paeroa as a going concei n. It is understood that if they are not successful in this reispect three months’ notice will be given to consumers that the supply of gas .will cease and the demolition of the plant proceeded with as the company must be wound up. The liquidators have suggested that, in the interests of the consumers, the Paeroa Borough Council should consider acquiring the assets of the company and carrying the work on as a municipal enterprise. The liquidators have had an interview with His Worship the Mayor (Mr’W. Marshall), and are preparing full particulars to place before him. On receipt of the details the Mayor has undertaken to place the matter before the council for consideration as early as possible.
