PAEROA RUGBY UNION. MEETING OF COMMITTEE. The usual meeting of the Paeroa Rugby Union Committee was held last evening, there being present: Messrs P. E. Brenan (chairman), H. M. Shand, W. Pennell, F. G. Otter, C. T. Mettam, and C. H, Butcher, secretary. JUNIORS FOR WAIHI. The Waihi Union wrote asking that a junior representative team be sent to Waihi on August 30'. After a lengthy discussion it was decided to send a team as requested, provided playeqs paid their own travelling expenses. Mr Eugene Shaw was appointed manager of the team. LOAN OF SHIELD. An application was received from the East Club asking for a loan of the senior shield for inclusion : n a photograph of the team. —Granted. JUNIOR REPRESENTATIVE MATCH. It was decided to again submit the name of Mr W. Bramble, Karangahake, to the Referees’ Association for appointment to control the representative junior match, Paeroa v. Piako, on Saturday. Mr C. H. Butcher was appointed manager of the team. Following on the protest lodged by the East Club in the match East v. Wetsi, the meeting went into committee, and op resuming in open meeting it was agreed that Hagans’ qualifications be removed from junior to senior. Accounts totalling £6 Is were passed for payment. SATURDAY’S CHARITY MATCH. PAEROA JUNIOR TEAM. The following team has been selected for Saturday next to play the Piako junior representatives, on the Paeroa Domain, this being the Charity Saturday fixture : Full-back, Rackham; three-quar-ters, O’Brien, Swann, Wells ; fiveeighths, Moore, Mead; half-back, Hardman ; rover, Treanor ; forwards. McKee. Neil, Shaw, Williams, Smith, Thorp, Nield. Emergencies : McLeod, Smith, ’McKenna, Advice was received in Paeroa today that the youth, Alfred Arnold Lipsham, who was committed for sentence in connection with a number of charges of theft from the'Paeroa Post Office, appeared before Mr Justice Reed at the Supreme Court, Auckland, this morning, and was sentenced to two years’ reformative treatment.
