HAMILTON STOCK SALE. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report: At the Hamilton weekly stock sale on Tuesday last there was a good entry of fat cattle and sheep, but only a few fat pigs were penned. Store cattle were also scarce. Prime beef showed an improvement on the previous market, fat and store sheep maintaining the values of previous reports. Both fat and store pigs advanced considerably. Prime fat brought from £l3 5s to £l3 6s, lighter £lO 17s 6d to £ll 3s ; heavy fat cows and heifers £7 to £8 6s ; forward cows £3 15s; store cows £ll yearling Jersey heifers £2 4s. jersey cross 355, small 15s tp 265. Fat ewes made to 355, lighter 3(te; forward ewes 26s ; fat hoggets, woolly, 28s 10d; fair 2 and 4-tooth wethers 30s, small 27s 3d. Medium baeoners brought £3 17s 6d to £4 Is, light £3 5s to £3 7s 6d; best porkers £2 15s to £3 3s. The advertised line of stud Southdown ewes drew keen competition, the following pricee being realised: Two pens, specially selected. 7 tp 9 guineas ; others 3V. guineas to 7% guineas. The whole line averaged £6 2s 6d.
