CROQUET.
On Wednesday of last week a most enjoyable time was spent on the Pae-ro-i croquet lawns, the occasion being an afternoon given by the vice--liresidents, Misses Shaw and Dauber. A change from the usual departure of sueli social events was instituted, two competitions, comprising golf croquet and crazy croquet, being played. The latter competition, especially, evoked mi’ch interest and amusement. An adjournment was made during the play to partake of afternoon tea, which was served -in the pavilion. The prize-winners in the various competitions were: A Grade Golf Croquet, Mrs McGruer ; B Grade Golf Croquet, Mrs Lamb ; .A Grade Crazy Crcquct, Mrs McGruer; B Grade Crazy Croquet, Mrs H. E. Andrews. The prizes were distributed by the president, Mrs Conblly, who congratulated the winners and also thanked Misses Shaw and Dauber, on behalf of the club, for the enjoyable and successful afternoon organised bv them.
