ST. PAUL’S CHURCH.

EASTER SERVICES.

A notice of the special services at St. Paul’s Church for Good Friday and Eastbr Day appears in our other columns. There will be no services on Good Friday morning, but at 12 noon Devotions, which will continue for between two and three hours, will be begun. These are the hours that Our Lord hung upon the Cross, and it is thought fitting that they should be spent in prayer and devotion. The services will be interspersed with hymns, and a,s it is possible that some of the congregation may npt be abla to attend at the beginning of the ser - vices, and others not able to remain till the end, worshippers are invited to come or go during the singing of one of the hymns. It is hoped that this arrangement will enable every parishioner to spend at least a portion of the saerpd hours in prayer, at the foot of the Cross. At 7.3 ft there will be Evensong and sermon, with a short .service of preparation for the Easter Communion. On Raster Day the Blessed Sacrament will be celebrated twice, the first service being at eight, and- a sung Eucharist at 11 a.m. Parishioners are reminded that one of the Prayer Book rubricks reads “And note, that every parishioner shall communicate at the least three times in the year, of which Easter is to be one.” Full Festal Evensong will be sung at 7 p.m. The collections at both services on Good Friday will be given to the fund for Bishopric of Jerusalem and the East, and those at all services on Easter Day will, in accordance with almost univeisal custom, be banded to the Viear as an Easter offering.
