ABOUT YOUR HOME.
WHY PAY RENT! CONSULT MESSRS. CHAMBERLAIN AND PINDER. At the present time there Is no need for an enterprising person to be paying away money as rent for a home in which to live. Under the present system of Government advances to workers and settlers it is a comparatively easy matter for every person to be the proud possessor of his own home. A residence under this loan system has just been completed bv Messrs Chamberlain and Pinder, builders, of Pae'.oa, to the order of Mr B, Rae. It is situated in Willoughby Street South, next to the Roman Cathol’c Church. This home is one of the latest styles of bungalows, and is totally different to any existing style in Paeroa. Standing as it does on its elevated position, in its spick-and-span glory of new paint, it strikes one as being particularly attractive, and indeed a home to be proud of. The four rubble stone piers support-' ing the entrance porch and verandah are as handsome as they arc novel in a house in this town. The gables arc .so constructed as to provide for the joists coming right -through, giving the outside a pleasing appearance, as well as one of solidity. Canadian shingles have been used on the gables with striking effect. Attractive as the exterior of the residence is, it is not until a visit of inspection is made to the interior that one can realise the competent work and genuine craftmanship of the builders. Messrs Chamberlain and Pinder, whose motto is “Thoroughness and Originality.” On entering the house the octagonal reception hall is the first appartmentio claim attention. This hall is spacious, and attractively laid nut, a feature being a coat and hat cupboard built into the eastern wall. Passing through to the living room one is confronted with its handsome appearance and general attractiveness. The ceiling, particularly-, calls for .special comment. The use of heavy rimu 6 by 4 and 9 by 4 beams has been effectively made m its construction, with fibrous plaster panels surrounding a handsome dome, in the centre. Prettily designed win * dow seats fill two corners of the room, and a Quaintly designed open fireplace gives it an air of distinction and homeliness. An inspection of th? three bedrooms, kitchenette, pantry, wash-house, and the number of convenient cupboards and linenpress con - vince one that a great deal of care and forethought has been given to providing every possible convenience. There is not an inch of waste room, and . utility with neat design has been the. keynote. Many modern improvements, such as are to be found in the latest city homes, have been introduced in the construction. Amph ventilation and light is provided oy French casement windows fitted with attractive tapering facings. The bathroom is commodious and well appointed. and is finished off in the best white enamel. The porch and ver - andah have been attractively finished off with fibrous plaster and rimu batten ceilings. To ensure a good finish the architraves were placed in position after the paperhanging was completed, thereby obviating the ends of wallpaper showing on the woodwork. The same method has been adopted with the skirting boards in each room. A sepcial feature of the interior of the house is that the whole of the woodwork has been hand-dressed finished, which gives it that handsome, well .finished appearance. The house is replete with every modern convenience, including electricity, hot and cold water, and connection with the new sewerage system It is Worthy of note by those who contemplate building that Messrs Chamberlain and Pinder prepare their own plans and specifications for any class of building, and undertake to give satisfaction to their clients and obtain the approval of the Government. Messrs Chamberlain and Pinder extend a cordial invitation to the public to call and inspect the house in question before it is handed over to its new owner towards the end of this month..
