PERSONAL.

Captain T. J. Watts, advisory superintendent of the United Fire Brigades Association of New Zealand, is at present on a visit to Paeroa, and attended the official opening of the new lire station last evening.

Mr F. H. Wilks, master of the secondary department, Paeroa District High School, left for Auckland to-day on six months’ leave of absence to enable him to undergo an operation and receive treatment for war disabilities.

Mr S. D. Barr has been appointed by the Education Board as relieving master at the Paeroa District High School during the temporary absence of Mr Wilks. Mr Barr Is an experienced teacher, and holds the degree of Bachelor of Agriculture.
