PIPIBOA WHOOPING COUGH. An outbreak of whooping cough has occurred at Pipiroa. Over a quarter of the pupils attending the school are ill, and the matter of closing the school is being considered. TURUA. SCHOOL GROUND IMPROVEMENTSThe Turua School Committee decided on Tuesday evening to have part of the playground laid down in asphalt. The total cost will be about £l4O, and the work will be done during the summer holidays. NGATEA. STOCK SALE. . There was a very big yarding at the Loan and Mercantile Agency’s stock sale at Ngatea on Friday last, but the sale was very dull. There was no demand whatever for dairy cattle or for big steers. Fat cows brought from £3 to £4' 2s 6d, others 30s to £2 15s • empty heifers 35s to 455; bulls £3 10s to £lO 10s, rough bulls £1 to £2 ; fresh, fleshy 3-year steers £4 10s to £5 ss. PRESENTATION.
