DISTRICT NEWS.
KEREPEEHI. SCHOOL. The monthly meeting of the Kerepeehi School Committee was held on Mouday evening, Mr H. D. Jamieson presiding over a full attendance, The Education Board wrote accepting a tender for the felling and trimming of the trees > in the school grounds.—Received. The work has been commenced and four trees have already been felled. The Education Board also forwarded a copy of a report by a Health Department officer in regard to the contamination of the school water by •leaves form the trees lodging in the spouting and tanks. In reference to previous correspondence in regard tp the payment of several accounts .contracted many years ago a letter was received from a legal firm threatening to take action to recover the money through the courts. The Education Board wrote with reference to the same matter, asking for a complete statement of the accounts so that the question of making a grant could be considered. It was decided .to forward the statement to the board. The headmaster recommended that the committee subscribe towards certain magazines and newspapers for the school library.—Agreed to.
