BACON COMPANY FAILURE
UNJUST CMTICISM. “An unfortunate aspect of the failure of the Bacon Company is the fact that the men who latterly sold shares to farmers have come in hr what i>» really unjust criticism, although in all likelihood the critics are in general unaware how unjustified is their criticism. In justice to these men, and to farmers who may be inclined to criticise them, it is well to point out that these men when canvassing for .shares had no knowledge whatever of the circumstances which led to the failure of the Bacon Company. They were simply repeating statements made to them by men holding responsible and important positions in the company, and there were no grounds for questioning the reliability of such statements. Indeed, some of those who canvassed for shares suffered from the failure of the Bacon Company in a similar manner to the farmers who bought shares. —Dairyfarmer, September 23.
