CROQUET CLUB.

ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Paeroa Ladies’ Croquet Club was held in the Public Library on Wednesday afternoon last. Mrs W. H. Taylor, president, occupied the chair. The annual report was read and adopted, as also was the balancesheet, which disclosed a small credit balance. Last season had been a veiy successful one, and some interesting competitions were held. During the meeting the opportunity was taken to present Mrs W. H, Taylor, winner of the club championship, with a handsome rose bowl. The presentation was made by Mrs Connolly, who referred to Mrs Taylor in glowing terms, not only as a player, but in reference to her sterling qualities and enthusiasm in the club. The following were elected officers for the 1923-24 season: President, Mrs Connolly; vice-presidents, Misses Dawber and Shaw; committee, Mesdomes Taiboys, Lamb, Byrne, W. H. Taylor, Towers, and Barclay. Mrs GH, Taylor was unanimously re-elected secretary. It was decided to hold the opening day on Saturday, October 27, provided the lawns are ready for play by that date. Two new members were elected, and there is still plenty of room for additional players.'
