NGATEA. STOCK SALE. There was an extra large yarding of stock at the Loan and Mercantile Co’s. Ngatea sale on Friday, bota yards being utilised. Bidding w r as not very spirited, but about threequar;et’s of the stock o.lered was sold under the hammer at the prices ruling at other yards. There was no demand for sheep, and only about one-sixth, of those/ offered were disposed of. Store cows, light, brought from 20s to 27s 6d, better, up to £2, heavy, up to £2 8s- Several bulls sold at £l. Steers averaged £5 IVs. heavier £5 10s to £7. Calves, good Holstein cross heifers, realised 255. Three pens of sheep realised 22s 6d, ewes 255, and a ram 13s. Ther/e was no demand for horses. KEREPEEHI. FOOTBALLERS’ BALL. The' ball organised by the Kerepeehi Football Club and held on Friday last was an undoubted 'success. Although comparatively few came' from Thames there was a good attendance from nearer-by. The hall was very prettily decorated with greenery and paper streamers of red and .black, the club colours. The music was Frecklingtons’ and Murdock’s ■ orchestras, and extras were played by Mr and Mrs Chatfield and Mrs Hudson. Mr J. H. Nicholson, presidenl of the (club, presented the medals won the previous season by Mr J. Adlum and Watene. HOSPITAL SITE. At a meeting of the Kerepeehi Hospital Committee held on Tuesday evening it was announced that the site fund now totalled about £lOO. The sum needed was £146. After much discussion it was decided to hold a public meeting on Friday, 11th inst., to discuss raising the balance.
