MANUAL TRAINING.
HOUSEHOLDERS’ RESOLUTION. At the meeting of householders’ m the Soldiers’ Club on Monday evening the matter of a manual training school at Paeroa was brought-up. The chairman stated that this mat ter had received the earnest attention of the committee, but he regretted that he was unable to report any further progress as to the establishment of a manual training school for Paeroa. The Rev. Mr Dobson. then moved the following resolution :— “That this meeting of householders protests against the continued delay in providing proper facilities for manual in Paeroa, and upholds the action of the School Committee in refusing to allow, during the winter mouths, the pupils of the Paeroa District High School to undergo every fortnight a journey ef 10 miles to receive that part of their education which should certainly be provided without such inconvenience.” Seconded by Mr Power and carried. It was decided that, a copy of the resolution should be forwarded to the Education Department, Wellington, as well as to the board in Auckland. The headmaster said he was glad to hear that resolution passed by the householders. j. .
