SOCIAL AND DANCE.
ENJOYABLE EVENING. The social and dance organised by the Catholic Social Committee which was held in the Central Theatre on Tuesday evening was largely attended, and was an unqualified success from every point, of view. The floor was in fair order, and the music provided by Mrs F. S. Budd proved irresistible to the dancers. A delicious and dainty supper was provided by the ladies of the Church. This was served in the supper room, which had been prettily decorated for the occaH sion. A waltzing competition was held, and was won by a Te Aroha couple. Mr J. For the non-dancers a euchre tournament wa-: held, and competition was very keen for the handsome prizes that were offered. At the conclusion of the games it was announced that Miss I. Crosby had won first honours among the ladies, with Miss J. Tucker a close second. In the men’s competition Mr Boyes proved to be the winner. with Mr C. Olsen runner-up. Extras were contributed by Mesdames W. Pennell, Staunton. Misses C. Taylor and Houlihan, and Mr Alley.
