TENNIS.
WORKS COMMITTEE MEETING. A meeting of the works committee of the Paeroa Lawn Tennis (incorporated) was held on Wednesday at 8 p.m. Present: Messrs C. N. O’Neill, H. Thorp, C. Wells, I. Towers,' and R B. Penlington. Mr O’Neill reported that, the agreement* for the purchase of the land had been completed (except for the affixing of the clubs’ seal), incorporation was complete, and the required money had been otbained by bank overdraft. Sinte taking possession the wora of levelling had progressed very fav ourably. i A working bee bn Saturday last had removed a large amount of the earth in the entrance and placed it on the sites of the new ’courts. Bv the middle of next week all excavation should be completed, 'when it will take but a short time to level off. It is the intention of the club to lay down eight grass courts, at least four of them to be ready for playing on at the beginning of next season.
