WAIKATO MARKET REPORT. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., Hamilton, reports - Beef.—A sharp decline in beef has been suffered. The cessation of operations by the export, companies in this brapch has been responsible for throwing considerable quantities on the market which the requirements of the local trade have been insufficient to absorb. .There seems every .likelihood of recovery' before long. Mutton. —The market for mutton has also declined. The favourable season is responsible for abundant stocks, especially of ewes. Store Cattle. —A low ebb has again been reach, and'stocks, are difficult to dispose of. There is an absence pt inquiry for practically--all classe- of steers. Empty heifers are alsc , poor demand, but hopes are enter “z.-, ed regarding the -prospect of heifers. The forthcoming fairs will decide this. Store Sheep.—These have in general declined. Breeding ewes draw little inquiry. Wethers have receded to a somewhat greater degree thjin the fat article. Lambs also have -weakened, but competition is never wanting. Pigs.—Pigs have firmed consideiably since last reporting. According to killing sheets yard values work out . at from 6%d to. per lb. Competition in all markets is brisk.
