A sub-editor of a metropolitan daily on Tuesday last was discussing the work of a junior reporter, who had written that a certain cinema star was a popular favourite. “Did you ever hear of an unpopular favourite ?” asked the man of learning. “Yes, sir, there wals' a very unpopular favourite in the la'st race yesterday at Ellerslie!”
