LATEST ENGLISH MAGAZINES.

The October "London” is again up to its high standard, opening with an interesting humorous story, "Luck,’ by F, Tennyson Jesse. "The Unconquerable Soul,” by F. C. Wignail, is also a story of very high merit. “Tne Man who Didn’t Matter,” by William Cane, and .“Dreams Come True,’ by May Edginton, are well worth mention. There are -a number of other fine stories and special articles', apd the London picture pages and the illustrations throughout are well up to the usual standard. The “Red” for September 15 is a fine number, being full pf stories of romance, love, and adventure. Sued stars as Nellie Tom-Gallon and Calder Wilson, Michael Kent, H. Mortiner Batten, Dpnoven Bayley, F. Morton Howard, and Margaret Pedler are amongst the writers.

The “Red” of September 29, as usual, contains a number o>f very fine stories, is nicely illustrated, and, as suggested by the striking cover, is "pf gripping interest.” This’ number opens with “101 Per Cent.," by John Suatin. This is a striking story, full of interest throughput, and is followed by “The Good Hand of Providence” and a number of exceptionally good stories by the inost popular authors of the day,

The “Yellow” for September. 22 is another fine number, and starts' the first instalment of a splendid new serial story by Anthony Carlyle, entitled “The Eden Tree.” There are a dozen other fine illustrated stories by the best, authors, including “The Great Man and the Small Room,” by Owen Oliver, “The Golden Road, by J. Jefferson Fargeon, and “The Way Things Happen,” by W. Harold Thompson.
