RAINFALL ON PLAINS.
A DRY MONTH. September, during ■ which there is usually a copious rainfall on the Hauraki Plains, has this year; been a very dry month, only 1.90 inches being recorded at the Lands Department’s office at Kerepeehi. This makes this year’s September one of the driest, on record. The average fall for Setpember is a,bout 3 inches. The lowest fall for that period was in 1913, when • .7‘Bin was gauged, the next lowest being 1-80 in 1914. The year’s rainfall to date is 32,31 inches. April so far has been the driest mopth, only 1.73 inches being recorded. September comes next. The heaviest rainfall was experienced in February with 6.62 inches, and ;n March with 5.4'9 inches/ The heaviest fall during last, month was on the 27th, when .57in was recorded.
