ENTERTAINMENTS.
CENTRAL THEATRE PICTURES TO-NIGHT. "TRUE BLUE.” One of the star pictures fpr to-night is a William Fox, entitled "True Blue.” It tells a story of Arizona and old England, with plenty of humour bteween the thrilling scenes for which William Farnum is famous. He has a character in this play that is perfectly suited to him —that of a Western ranchman, who suddenly finds that he is heir to an Englisn title. "Bob” McKeever shows “Bill” Farnum at his best,, with, his rugged strength and' wholesome heart and purpose, with which he tackles evei y problem—whether it is a "bad m'an” or how to win the girl he loves. The other attraction is "Smiles are Trumps,” featuring Maurice Flynn. THE VICE-REGALS.
TO-MORROW NIGHT.
After the successful showing the Vice-Regals made in New Zealand last year their forthcoming tour will be eagerly anticipated by all lovers of clean, healthy humour and popular music attractively presented. Having just completed a five-mouths season in Melbourne, w.here they earned a great reputation for original and spontaneous humour, the Vice-Regals can claim a place in the sun in Che theatrical world. This has been; earned by sparing no effort or expense to keep abreast with the times. In other words, the Vice-Regals are up-toHdate if nothing else. On this occasion the Vice-Regals come to New Zealand reinforced by the inclusion in their ranks of that .admirable jester, Claud Dampier, one of the merriest fun machines that has appeared in New Zealand, and whose antics, face expressions and gestures proclaim him to be a veritable child of Thalia, the goddess of comedy. The company appears here tomorrow night. ERRICK CHARMERS. DRAMATIC LYRIC TENOR. A social evening and dan.ce is to be held in the Soldiers’ Hall on Friday next. The programme is a novel one fon Paeroa. At intervals between dances popular songs will be sung by Mr Errick Charmers, the Australian dramatic lyric tenor. Dancing will commence at 9 p.m. and continue till 1 am. Supper will be providedPress notices of Mr Charmers are much beyond the ordinary run. A Christchurch paper says : “The great success attained by him in Christchurch is undoubtedly proof of his exceptional ability.”
