COMMUNITY SING.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT. Arrangements have been made by the committee for another “sing” this week. The theatre being engaged every night this week, arrangements have been made with. Messrs Woods and Jennings fon the sing-song to take place from 7.45 p.m. to 8-45 p.m. on Wednesday, and a purely nominal charge is to be made, namely, adults 6d and children 3d. This admits to the pictures, so that, it will indeed be a cheap night’s entertainment. A new song-book, containing about SO songs, is. now in thie press, and will be on sale at the theatre on Wednesday evening. The committee,. ip preparing this song-book, has taken songs chosen by Auckland and Wellington as the basis, and has added quite a number of other popular songs, in all making possibly the best collection, yet arranged. The book is to be sold at 6d per copy. It is hoped that the small charge for admission will not deter all from taking part in the sing song. The course adopted by the committee was the only one that presented itself if community singing was to be held this week, and it is confidently anticipated that the theatre will be packed.
