ENTERTAINMENTS.

CENTRAL THEATRE PICTURES TO-NIGHT. “MY LADY OF THE CAVE.” New Zealand should be proud of; the New Zealand picture “My Lady of the Cave,” which is to be screened this evening. It sets a standard in photography, technique, lighting, and production generally which places it on euual terms with the imported film. It is a rattling talc of the Bay of Plenty and the Coromandel Coast in the day of "The Oyster Boys,” sly g’.og sellers, and remittance men. Of Rail, the giant Maori, and his beautiful Pakeha companion, and the strange adventures of Dick Trite and his mate amid the rugged grandeur of coast and island, the stprml toss-el seas and sunse.t glory ofl God’s Own Country. The uncanny characters of old-time New Zealand live again in vivid realism. Some of the close-tups and double exposures and ether matters of technique are even better than can ordinarily be seen in American films. ‘ RIDING WITH DEATH.” “Riding With Death,” a Willfam Fox western photoplay to be screened to-night, is as exciting and entertaining a photoplay as any "in which this popular star has appeared. Charles Jones plays the part of “Dynmnite” Steve Dorsey, a reckless riding and hard fighting Texas Ranger who gets into trouble with a crooked sheriff and his henchmen. The story is strong in plot and tremendously fast in action. The love theme is developed most effectively. The friendship cf two men in love with the same girl—men who are such good pals that they remain pals in spite of the conflict in desire —is faithfully and appealingly portrayed.
