PIGS ON THE PLAINS.
PROPOSED BACON FACTORY There has some time been a movement on foot to havn the New Zealand Meat Packing and Bacon Co. (co-op.) to erect a bacon factory on the Hauraki Plains. At the invitation of the Ngatea branch o,f the N.Z Farmers’ Union, Mr S. C. Baron, manager of the company, will address a meeting of the Plains settlers at Ngatea on Thursday afternoon, July 20. The Ngatea farmers, however, should not be the only ones concerned. It is a matter flor the Plainsmen in general, and it should be settlers from each part of the Hauraki Plains who should attend. The advertisement in this issue extends an open invitation. Not only will it be an opportunity for the settlers to expound their views with regard to the proposed baron factory, but the shareholders in the company will have a good opportunity at the meeting to ask other questions of the manager.
