ADJUSTMENTS DISCUSSED. ADMINISTRATION DIFFICULTY. The suggested adjustments between the Turua Tbwn Board and the. Hauraki Plains County Council were discussed at the Town Board’s meeting on Wednesday evening. Mr. J. Bennett (chairman) said that the suggested agreement with the County Council was considered to bo acceptable with the exception of the £75 to be given to the Cpuncll for, administration.. Mr. Mules thought something should be done to the roads before the Board takes control of them. ' The clerk said the Board had power to collect £145 from the County general rate, and had to pay £75 of that back to the Council for a share of the administration. He did not think it quite right .that the administration by the Council should cost more than what it would cost to maintain the roads. Mr. Mules-thought it .was not at all acceptable. The chairman said the County Council had not spent £lO on the roads since Ito existence. It had spent money, but had wasted it Mr. Davies maintained that the Council should take into consideration the state of the Plakp Road anil accept £5O for administration. Mr. Whimp’s opinion was that the Council had treated the Board very fairly, excepting the request for £75 for administration charges. To refuse that portion was to refuse the whale df the adjustments. It was suggested that the money i.o be .handed to the Cpuncll for administration be less than £75; Mr Olsen suggested offering £4O for the first two years. Mr. Whlmp suggested offering a third of the rates collected.
