A COUNCIL’S POLICY.
HAURAKI PLAINS COMPLAINTS. RATEPAYER’S OPINION. What might be termed an attack on the policy of the Hauraki Plains County Council was made when the Council was receiving' a number of deputations at Ngatea on Monday. Mr N. Davidson said that all the complaints- to the Council appeared to hinge on the lack of a constructive policy. Cr. Harris: It is the lack of machinery. Mr Davidson continued that there was nothing put up to the ratepayers, who had : to come and suggest things to the Council. Cr. Mayn.: What we want is a, good engineer. Mr Davidson: There appears to be a lot of petty strife as to whether the Council has been doing its best. A lot of people voted against the recent machinery loan because they thought it would be carried and they wanted as large a majority against it as possible. The Chairman : Then it was not the policy but the members of the Council they were up against.
