DAIRY STAFF BALL.

ENJOYABLE FONCTION.

There was a very good attendance at the annual ball held last evening by the staff of the N.Z. Co operative Dairy Company’s Paeroa factory, in the Central' Theatre. The theatre was splendidly decorated with nikau palms and other greenery, which must have taken a lot of; labour to procure. Unfortunately the floor; the officials state, could not be brought into good order, owing to its having been treated with a hygienic preparation some time agp. Although twelve men spent four hours working on it, the result was anything but satisfactory. The music," supplied by Farrell’s Jazz Band;, of Morrinsville (previously given out as Crickett’s band in error, he being the secretary of the band), vgas a revelation to Paeroa; the excellence of the music being highly appreciated and pommented upon by all present. Tile secretarial work was in the hands of Miss Over, all, whose successful efforts were manifested in many dilutions, The tables were prettily laid out, the management of' the refreshments (supplied by Mr T. 'H. Hale, baker and confectioner, Paeroa) was in the capable hands of Mrs Overall. The fare was most choice, and the dispensing of it left nothing to be desired. This department came ip for especial commendation from all patrons—-and there wene no absentees!* Messrs C. Neilson and C. C. Irwin proved courteous and efficient M!.C's., attending to their duties in an impartial and considerate manner. The function was,a signal success, with the excetpion of the condition of the floor,;which it was impossible to get up to good dancing''form, and there is. little doubt that the annual ball will be a still* more popular entertainment in succeeding years.
