PAEROA CRICKET CLUB.
SEASON REVIEWED. The Paeroa Cricket Club has had a very successful season, and one that reflects credit on the members, and on the leading spirits, in particular. Even, those who dp not understand the game/will realise that by winning five of the seven representative matches the local Club has wop its spurs, and when the fact of the Club .only being formed in February, 1921, is taken into consideration', it will: be seen that cricket has secured a good ho'd in P.aeroa. It is also gratifying to know that the public have taken considerable interest in the Club’s doings. Now that the game is established, the stage has been reached when something should be dope to provide facilities for it; that is, the laying down of a suitable wicket in either grass or concrete. The present surface on the Domain ground, while being quite suitable f,or football, is very unsatisfactory from a cricket point of view. The concrete wicket in the Waihi Domain is* covered wi,th turf during.,the winter, anl football is played over it, so that there is no reason why, the f;act of football being played on pur Domain should prevent a cencrete wicket being laid down. • Next season it is anticipated that there will be two clubs, and if this hope materialises it will be essential to 'have a proper wicket, and we hope that the Domain Board will be ih a position to supply our local cricket club’s wants.
