■—-—° 1 PLAINS CLUB’S COMMITTEE. The committee of the Hauraki Plains Veterinary Club met in, Mr McLean’s office, Turuai,’ on Friday afternoon, the following being present : Messrs J. Whitmore (chairman), P. Corbett, J. Bailley, S, Murray, G. Fisher, B. Johnson, J'. H. Nicholson, and J, Gibson (secretary). Mr Whitmore said that Dr. Jensen had met with An accident recently while in the club’s employ, and he was not insured.—lt was decided to insure the doctor It was decided that -Dr. Jensenshould hold four lectures per week, .one in each centre, for four months. The first lecture is to be Held on April 10. It was decided .to admit members only, and to ensure that, members only' attended the lectures. The member fop the district in which the meeting will be held was elected, doorkeeper. It was reported that some members had paid only the entrance fee of £1 Is, and had hot paid the. remaining £4 4s. These members had been gaining the benefit of the veterinarian’s services, and the secretary, on the motion of Messrs Corbett and Bailley, was instructed to write to the unfinancial members not supply- ' ing dairy factories and -ask for the i balance of the money. .Until the ar- ; rear's were paid t'he unfinancial members would not be to the ' meetings l . | The secretary reported that the dispensary and library had been 1 painted at the dub’s expense, and j that the library committee was prepared to reduce the rent, recognis- , ing that the library committee had ’ gained some benefit, therefrom; The i matter was left with the secretary.- | It was suggested that each member should take notes at the lectures, but as a more satisfactory way it 1 was.decided to have shorthand notes I taken of the- lectures and leaflets I printed and sold at cost price to dub members.
