TURUA. THE SPORTS. . There are several local athletes who are training assiduously for the forthcoming-sports to be held on Fein ruary 9. The entries for all events have been coming in fairly well, and several runners from the outside dis 1 - tricts are among the intending competitors. With, favourable circumstances there is every possibility of the sports proving even a greater success than last year’s gathering. The entries close to-day.. PILE-DRIVER AT WHARF. Each day sees a. little more pron gress being made at the Turua wharf. The pile-driver is now being moved into position, and the wharf site is beginning to appear to be more businesslike.
