SEASON OPENS WEDNESDAY.

The Paei'oa Chautauqua season opens in the Central Theatre next Wednesday afternoon, at 2.46. The programme is decidedly superior .o that of last year, and the performance of it in Australia has won warm - praise from several reputable large daily papers in the leading cities of Australia. Full reference to the galaxy of musical and vocal, and instrumental talent will appear in Monday’s “Gazette.” In the meantime the public will be acting wisely by buying season tickets, which will work out very much cheaper than paying for each performance at the door. JUNIOR CHAUTAUQUA. Boys and Girls,—-Do you remember Junior Town of two years ago, It has come again this season, and there is real work'for its citizens to do. The Spirit of Thrift is coming, too, ’ and will help all good citizens to improve their town. Buy your tickets early and be ready to meet the Story Lady, for there is much to do in order to be ready for the last night. There will be games and stories as well, so you will have a chance to show how mu'ch you have' remembered from last year. By the magic of her voice and bravery, she quiets a terrific panic when a boiler bursts in the little theatre. It - is David who has his arms around her when she emerges from this ordeal, and it is David to whom she is giving her love when Mischa, attraded by her sudden fame, slinks back in vain for forgiveness. He finally consents to rest up on a dilapidated estate in Virginia, and here the hero is given an opportunity to see the struggles of Eugenia Vardaman, and ambitious ' but untalented authoress.. The family, is in sad financial straights,, and Virginia hopes to do her bit with her typewriter. The man has geniusj but is too lazy to work hard, but when his deepest sympathies are touched his entire life is reconstructed ahd he and the girl together find aw out oi their difficulties.
