DISTRICT NEWS.
NETHEBTON. SCHOOL ADDITIONS FINISHED. To celebrate the completion ofl the additions to the Netherton school a dance was held in the hall last week. The residents showed keen interest in the function and a large number attended, there being over 50 couples on the floor. Dance music* was supplied by Miss Sarjant, while Mr Lockie Rice was M.C. Mr Chisholm obliged with a few musical items. The additions to the school were not completed before they were required, and even with the extra space the accommodation is taxed to its utmost. The committee was successful in obtaining the extra room after persistent efforts which extended over a considerable period. PERSONAL. Mr Brown, manager of the Netherton branch of the Farmers’ Union Trading Co., has received advice of a probable move as manager of the Paeroa establishment. WAITAKARURU. It is probable that the N..Z. Co-op. Bacon and Meatipacking Co. will erect a receiving depot at Waitakaruru early next year.
