PAEROA-POKENO RAILWAY
NETHEBTON A CTIVITY. Mr B. Dunlop, president of the Notherton branch of the MZ, Farmers' Union, brought up the question of the proposed Paeroa-Pokcno railway at last night’s meeting of the Pacroa Chamber of Commerce. The sub-pro-vincial executive was endeavouring to assist, and wished the co-opera-tion of all local institutions in getting the Hon. the Minister for Public Works to visit the district and traverse the proposed route. The Minister had replie 1 to the executive that he could not at present see his way clear to make the trip. Mr Dunlop asked the Chamber to back the proposal up, and make further requests to the Minister to visit the district.
The president (Mr E.. W. Pprritt) pointed out that it would be ppportun 3 to bring the matter up if and when the Parliamentary delegation, as pro-* posed by the Morrinsville Chamber of Commerce (see report elsewhere) were in the district.
On the motion of Mr Dunlop, seconded by Mr D. Leach, it was unanimously decided to support the Farmers’ Union to the full.
