JERSEY BREEDERS.

A meeting of farmers interested in the Jersey breed of cat.ue at Matamata was well attenued and was enthusiastic. Mr J. F. Vosper was. elected to the chair, and he stated ■that the meeting had been .called to discuss the proposed formation of a branch of the South Auckland Jersey Breeders’ Association.
Mr Missen, president of the latter body, explained the benefits to be derived, which all tended towards the improvement of the quality of; the breed in the country. The speaker offered to do all in his power to assist in furthering the success of the branch, and asked that all present pull together to attain the desired object—the improvement of the Jersey cow.
It was decided that a Matamata Jersey Breeders’ Club, to affiliate with the South Auckland bo3y, be formed, and the following officers were elected : President, Mr J. F. Vosper ; vice-president, Mr W. Crabb, secretary, Mr E. C. McCormack; executive committee, president, vicepresident, secretary, Messrs H. Lewis, T. H. Prouse, A. Day, and Mears. The subscription was fixed at 10s per annum, and the secretary was instructed to open an account in the Bank of New Zealand, the president and secretary being empowered to sign cheques. , It was decided that meetings be held quarterly.
A successful meeting terminated with a vote of thanks ;to Mr Missen and the convener of the meeting (Mr J. F. Vosper).
