HOSPITAL BOARD.
GENERAL MEETING. The ordinary monthly meeting ?f the Thames Hospital Board was held on Wednesday. Present: Messrs W. McCormick (chairman), W. Baker, W. J. Hall, G. Death, W. E. Hale, J. Rowe, Hal. Johnstone, and the secretary, Mr G. Tpnge. ? BANK ADVANCE, £2OOO. The Bank advised that the request for an advance of £2OOO for temporary relief had been acceded to. MASSEUR. Discussing the matter of the suggested appointment of a masseur, the chairman said the cases for such treatment were not numerous, but Sister Mprrison had a certificate for that class of work, and had been appointed by him to do'such work as occasion required.—Chairman’s action approved. X-RAY PLANT. Mr W. J. Hall said he had been informed that the x-ray plant, when installed, would make .the hospital in this respect one of the best in the Dominion. The chairman said the plant had been laid up for some months, owing to the fact that an incorrect blueprint had been forwarded with the plant stating that 75 amperes would be required. This the powerhouse could nqi supply, except on previous notice. He had, however, instituted investigations, and found that pn'ly 25 amperes were required, so the plant would shortly be installed. GENERAL. Accounts amounting to £2204 were passed for payment, leaving a debit at the Bank of £ll5B. The balance-sheet showed the total liabilities at £50,542 19s lOd. The secretary was congratulated upon the production of a clean bal-ance-sheet, with no queries or tags attached. The secretary said Messrs Cullen and Pickett had kindly been forwarding a regular supply of books and magazines to the- Hospital.
