THE VICE-REGALS.

TUESDAY NEXT.

Paeroa is .to be favoured on Tuesday night next, 16th inst., with a visit from the above company. Speaking of this company the “.Wanganui Chronicle enthusiastically says : — We have Had our share of “duds” in Wanganui, but the thing we wisfi, to firmly impress on our readers "s that “ The Vice-Regals ” may be truly acclaimed a right royal show. They have come direct from Melbourne bringing with them an extraordinarily high reputation and -a repertoire stamped from A to Z with the hall-mark of excellence. Their programmes submitted at the local Opera House on the last three evenings are, of their kind, easily the best and most enjoyable ,ve have had here for many years. Individually and collectively they left nothing to be desired, and are well worthy » I the high praise bestowed • upon them by the Australian critics. Last night’s delighted audience gave enthusiastic endorsement of the 1 eulogies of the Press, of the Commonwealth. One critic, carried away by the sheer versatility of the man, exclaimed ‘What a great artist ’Will Crawford is; his resources seem never-ending? The critic’s appreciative tribute, was well deserved, but we think tltfit the individual eulogy would be no whit strained were it applied with equal warmtn to every member of the Company. Their brilliant show will long be remembered as ‘one of the best’: they play right up to .the high reputation which preceded them from Australia. We can safely predict that their tour through the Dominion will resolve itself into a series of triumphs. No lover of clever acting, clean and sparkling humour, should miss the opportunity of h’eaing ‘The ViceRegate.’ ” , The box plan is open at the “Gazette” Office.
