PATETONGA TO PAEROA.
THE TRAMWAY ROAD. SETTLERS’ REPRESENTATIONS. Further correspondence in reference to the proposed road from Patetonga to Paeroa was received by the Paeroa Chamber of Commerce last night from Mr Geo.’Sanders, for the settlers. The letter statefl that the Commissioner of Crown ' Lands (Mr H. M Skeet) .had been communicated with, who had replied that he had had a conference with Mr J. B. Thompson (Chief Drainage Engineer) in regard to the Tramway Road. This reply, Mr Sanders wrote, was the same had been received for years past, and was very unsatisfactory. He had written to Mr Skeet again, and as soon as the reply had been receive! he would send a copy of it to the Chamber. He had had a petition drawn up and signed by over eighty settlers, which was to be placed before the Hon. D. H. Guthrie (Minister for Lands). He hoped by constant representation .to get the work undertaken.
