Huntly Rod and Gun Club
A committee of the above Club was held n the room adjoining the Miners’ Hall, en Wednesday evening last. Present —Messrs F. J. Farrell (chairman) W. Speirs, J. Harlock, D. Bullock, T. Brocklebatik, Keleher, and J. Hughes (secretary.) The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed A letter was read from the Auckland Acclimatization Society informing the Club that they intended forwarding 20 young pheasants for liberation in the district with more to follow.
Mr Speirs moved: That the secretary be instructed to write to the Society asking them to keep the birds until after the shooting season, as it would simply be murder to liberate a lot of half tame birds just before opening the season, seconded by Mr T. Brocklebank and carried. It was decided to hold the annual general meeting on Wednesday, March Ist. All members and intending members are requested to attend.
