Social.

A social promoted by the choir of the Methodist Church was held in the Supper Room of the Miners’ Hall on Wednesday evening last, and proved most successful. Mr Hooker gave an address, in which on behalf of those present he bade farewell and God speed to Mr Earby who is on his final leave, prior to leaving for the Front. The evening was very pleasantly spent in playing the usual games, these being iaterspersed by songs most acceptably rendered by Miss Gardiner, and Messrs. Bright and Broadbent, and a duet by Messrs. Woods and Broadbent Mr J. Burndred supplied the music in his usual efficient manner. Supper was handed round and done full justice to, closing a most enjoyable evening.
