Huntly Town Board.

MONTHLY MEETING.

The monthly meeting of the Huntly Town Board was held on Thursday 25th of last month, Messrs. J. P. Bailey (Chairman) L. B. Harris Jr. and Jas. Elliot being present. A letter was read from the Government Insurance Department quoting for the insurance of the power station and contents. The clerk was instructed to obtain other quotations and submit same to the Board, when a decision would be come to. The balance sheet of the Orakau Celebrations was received from Mr J. W. Ellis. An informal discussion re the overseeing of the work going on under the Board was held, but the matter was finally left over for a full meeting of the Board. The Clerk reported that the wall-foundation and engine-bed at the Power Hcuse were finished but that the floor and boiler-bed could not be gone on with until builders were out of the way. Satisfactory progress with the brickwork was being done. Accounts amounting to £7616s 2d. on the General account and £2l 6s Od on the Loan Account were passed for payment.
