The Weather.
The weather for the last monthor two has been anything but pleasant, and we should not be surprised if July this year put up a record for rainfall. The River has been in flood three times during the past four weeks the latest rise being about nine feet. Although the weather has been so bad, little local damage has been reported. On the Railway Line several very large slips and washouts have occurred in the King Oonntry, but locally the damage was confined to an insignificant subsidence on the line at Tole’s Hill, where tne water had found its way under a set of pipes, washing out the sand in which they vv re embedded. Two Expresses got through alright, but the third was delayed about an hour while repairs were effected. Fortunately the train did not run on to the weakened part of the line before the washout was discovered, or an accident might easily have occurred, as the trains put on a considerable speed here in order to get up the hill.
