Presbyterian Church.

The annual meeting of the Presbyterian Church was held on Monday evening, a fairly good and representative congregation being assembled. During the evening a very enjoyable programme of sacred songs was submitted. the singing being greatly appreciated by the congregation. The singers were Mesdames G. A. Shaw and Audas, Miss Jean Brownlie, and Messrs. Devine, G. A. Shaw and Prentice. The rep >rts of the Elders and Deacons courts were of a very encouraging nature, and showed that considerable progress had been made in all departments of work. The out stations had greatly improved. The Sunday School reports were also submitted which showed a steady increase of scholars, but unfortunately in one instance, a shortage of teachers. The school at Ohinewai had just celebrated its anniversary, the function proving a great success. The report of tho Ladies Guild was submitted by the secretary which showed considerable enterprise on the part of the ladies, and a sound ■ financial position. The following members were added to the Eiders Court, Messrs. Wilkie, Prentice and Gavin ; and to the Deacons Court j Messrs. Roberts, Gib ion and T. I Starr. Votes of thanks to the officers j of the church, including the , organistsandchoirmaster brought a very enjoyable function to its ; close. 11
