Anniversary Services.

On Sunday last, the Rev. M. J. Evans conducted the Anniversary Services of the Methodist Sunday School. Large congregations attended each service, especially in the evening. The children who were seated on a platform in the front of the church, sang special hymns and choruses for the occasion. On Monday evening the distribution of prizes took place, there being a goodly number of parents, and friends present. A short address was given by by the Rev. Evans, urging the parents to send their children to the Sunday School, also pointing out how necessary it is for the. child, while young, to learn of the wonderful truths of the Bible, so that when setting out to face the world it would not have such a tendency to go astray. During the evening solos, choruses, and recitations were rendered very pleasingly by the scholars. After full justice was done to the supper, Mr Hooker told the children some very humourous tales, which kept them amused for the rest of the evening. A word of praise is due to the superintendent, Mr. Aspinall also to Messrs. Burndred and Legg, for their untiring efforts in making the Anniversary a success.
