MINERS’ HALL. The management beg to announce that by arrangement with Edmund Carroll they will present Mr Max F. Jefferson in his original patriotic one act dramas and thrilling emotional playlets this evening. Mr Jefferson is a brilliant English character actor and as Lieut. Wilton in Conan Doyle's adaption of the famous poem “ The Day ” he will be seen to perfection. Amongst the playlets to be presented with complete stage settings are “The Last Shot ” Footlight Memories ” and “Faces in the Firelight.” The first half of the entertainment will consist of a fine selection of pictures, the principle film being a big patriotic subject entitled “War Dogs of To-day.” This picture shows all the combatants in the war that is shaping the world to-day, and while it is being screened Miss Bartle wiil sing the rousing patriotic song, “ Britons All.” Owing to the extra expense in connection with this unique programme and for this evening only the prices for adults everywhere will be Is, and children 6d. A brilliant change of programme will be screened on Saturday when Edison’s special picture drama “ The Foreman’s Treachery ” will be shown. This is a wonderful tale of the Welsh mines full of strong and exciting episodes with a glorious background of natural Welsh scenery. A gigantic list of supporting films will be presented in addition amongst which is that screaming keystone, “ Our Country Cousins. ’’ Prices as usual for Saturday.
