Social Evening.

held at the residence of Mr. E. George, oil last Thursday night week. The function being organised by the members of the Methodist Church Choir, for the purpose of presenting Mr. R. Gleeson and Mr. J. Norman, each with a handsomely bound volume of the Methodist Tune Book. Rev. M. J. Evans in making the presentation on behalf of the choir, referred to the valuable services rendered to the choir by Mr. R. Gleeson and also spoke of the sterling qualities of Mr. J. Norman as conductor. In concluding bis eulogistic remarks, he wished the recipients every success in their new ventures. Messrs. Gleeson and Norman suitably responded. After a hearty vote of thanks was passed to Mr. George who so kindly gave the members of the choir the use of his room for the occasion — a very pleasant and happy evening was brought to a close by the singing of “ Auld Lang Syne. ”
